Flow:Build: Stack the Progress

Break down a peak pose and build your way there.

flow-build-stack-the-progress

Build on the progress and stack the work.

Flow:Build is where you take something you want to learn and figure out how to get there. Rather than moving through a sequence simply for the sake of moving, each class has a focus— a peak pose, transition or movement that you’ll work towards throughout the hour. You won’t be expected to nail it on the first attempt. Instead, you’ll break it down.

What happens in a Flow : Build class?

Our teachers will introduce the focus of the class and work backwards from there.

What strength do you need? Where does your balance come in? Which smaller movements or postures can help prepare your body?

You’ll work through these elements progressively, building the pieces before putting them together. Then comes the fun part: You get to have a go. There’s room to explore, try different variations and learn from what your body does.

Some days you might surprise yourself. Other days, you might discover that you need a little more strength or mobility before the shape feels right. Both are progress.

What will you work on?

Flow: Build develops the physical and mental skills needed to approach more challenging movements:

  • Strength from supporting and stabilising your body.
  • Balance by staying grounded while navigating more complex shapes.
  • Mobility through creating the range needed for specific postures.
  • Body awareness from understanding where and how you need to adjust.

The goal in this class isn't perfection, it's all about understanding.

You'll understand the movements, your body and what works for you. The more you understand how a movement works, the more confidently you can approach it.

Who is Flow : Build for?

Flow: Build is designed for anyone who wants to learn.

It’s especially suited to practitioners who are comfortable with the foundations and want to start exploring more complex poses, transitions or skills.

Think of it as the bridge between Flow : Pace and Flow : Power. You’ll still experience an unhurried flow, but the class has a harder finish as you work towards the focus of the day.

You don't need to be able to do the peak pose before coming to class. That's exactly why you're here.

How often should I take Flow : Build?

1-2 times/week

You can go for as many classes you like, but 1-2 classes will be sufficient for you to gradually work towards a particular skill or peak pose.

Pair with Flow : Pace to continue developing your movements or Mobility to work on your active range of motion that might be holding you back.

Learning a peak pose takes more than 1 attempt, so don't be discouraged.
